LEARNING INTENTIONS:
- Use prior knowledge to connect with text
- Check accuracy and the meaning of text whilst reading (ITTM)
- Use prior knowledge and context to confirm author's meaning of words and phrases
When using the “I think that means” strategy, what do you have to do?
When you use the strategy I think that means (I.T.T.M.) you need to try your hardest to explain what the sentence means clearly while convincing your audience you know exactly what the sentence is.You also need to make sure you are not stealing the writers words and explain it yourself.
How would you get a “3”?
You would get the highest mark which is a 3 by clearly sharing your opinion on what you think it means and convincing your listeners that the sentence is clear for you.
What is a roadblock?
A roadblock is a word in a sentence that you don't quite know what it means exactly
what it means and you might need a little bit of help with figuring out what it means
what it means and you might need a little bit of help with figuring out what it means
Reading do what your told.
You have really convinced me that you understand the “ITTM” strategy. You are putting the all of the sentences into your own words and are convincing your audience you understand what you have read.
