Sharp Reading - Using "I think that means"

When using the “I think that means” strategy, what do you have to do?
When you use the strategy I think that means you have to convince your audience you know what the sentence means, you also have to put the sentence into your own words so you can get a better understanding.

Write an “ITTM” for the following sentences:

It was a bright summer's morning and Lou had just finished milking the cow.
I think that means…. the sun was shining brightly in the morning sky and the young girl ended her duty of
collecting milk from her farm animal.

Lou stood in the middle of the room with a huge smile on her face.

I think that means…. the young girl was in the center of a big space standing still with a really big
grin on her face.

  1. Loretta, you have really convinced me that you understand the “ITTM” strategy. You are putting the all of the sentences into your own words and are convincing your audience you understand what you have read.
